The Baltimore Orioles (25-30) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (34-18) 6-1 on Tuesday night at Camden Yards in Baltimore. With the loss, the Rays have now lost three straight games.
Former Ray Shane Baz (2-5, 4.48) was brilliant for Baltimore, pitching seven innings of one-run ball in which he allowed seven hits while striking out nine and walking two. Rays starter Griffin Jax (1-3, 3.30) left the game after just two innings after he was hit in the back with a line drie.
Jonathan Aranda hit a RBI single in the first inning to give the Rays the early 1-0 lead. That would be the only offense the Rays would get - Baltimore took the lead with three runs in the bottom of the second. Then in the sixth Samuel Basallo hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning that made it 6-1, which would prove to be the final score.
